Kuehne+Nagel is gearing up to cut down on emissions with its recent purchase of 8 million litres of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The delivery will be completed by 2022 and will remove approximately 18,300 tonnes of CO2, which is the equivalent of 350 British Airways flights (fuel-efficient Boeing 787 aircraft) between London and New York. The SAF, manufactured from sustainable waste feedstocks, will be sourced from Phillips 66 Limited's Humber Refinery in Lincolnshire, England – the first to produce SAF at scale in the UK.
