Nov 30, 2019: Salvatore Sciacchitano of Italy has been elected as the president of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council for a term of three years beginning January 1, 2020. Sciacchitano succeeds Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu of Nigeria, who has held the position for two consecutive terms since 2014.
