The port of Antwerp will close 2016 with a projected record volume of over 214 million tonnes of freight handled. Making another record, the shipping container volume has risen above 10 million TEU for the first time in the history of the port. Liquid bulk has also witnessed a year-on-year expansion with an estimated volume of nearly 70 million tonnes.
