Even as the ECS Group's augmented GSA concept offers a pure and comprehensive, international charter service, it's 'Just Fly It' is one of ten individually purchasable new abilities that is designed to support two different customer groups: those seeking capacity, and those with the capacity to offer. ACS revenue hits $1.8bn on record sales across units

Global aircraft charter broker Air Charter Service (ACS) reported sales of $1.8 billion (£1.3 billion) for the year ending January 31, 2022, driven by strong growth and record sales across all divisions.

"The company's global presence and diversified business model has proved highly attractive to existing and new customers navigating the travel and logistical issues presented by the pandemic," an official statement said.

The company's cargo division continued to experience huge demand as a result of its Chinese presence (three offices) and ability to source passenger aircraft for temporary use as freighters. "The well-publicised supply chain issues facing so many industries resulted in high demand for air freight but with continued capacity shortage due to the slow recovery of the scheduled passenger market which previously provided between 50-70 percent of global air freight capacity has driven demand towards charter. Whilst it is expected that cargo demand could drop off at some point as the backlog of goods eases, it is impossible to predict either when this will happen or what the fall in demand will be."

US Labour dept announces worker initiative for workers in warehousing, logistics industries

The increased demand and the constraints on the global supply chain have combined to place enormous strain on America's warehouse and logistics industries and has prompted the U.S. Department of Labor to take heightened action to ensure that warehouse and logistics workers' wages and workplace rights are protected.

ICAO, UNECE complete digital air cargo guidance to replace AWB, DGD, CSD

ICAO and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) have completed new digital air cargo technical specifications guidance that will "help to accelerate the transition towards safer and more resilient supply chains while making important contributions to Covid-19 response and recovery efforts," reads the ICAO release.

These latest results will see digital specifications replacing the formerly paper-based Air Waybill (AWB), Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD), and the Consignment Security Declaration (CSD). These, in turn, form part of a broader suite of deliverables for multimodal transport data sharing, applicable to air, road, rail, maritime, and inland water transport.

The specifications and supporting materials are available free of charge to regulators, businesses, and other interested stakeholders through the UNDA COVID-19 Trade and Transport Project website, and ICAO and the UNECE will now turn their focus to assisting countries with implementing them.
