Peru's tax and customs agency Sunat recently opened a new air cargo electronic monitoring facility to screen incoming and outgoing risk airfreight at Lima-based Jorge Chavez International Airport. The system has a special pallet scanner for non-invasive customs inspection. The volume of foreign trade cargo passing through Jorge Chavez Airport amounts to 810,000 tonnes a year, which is valued over $13 billion in international trade transactions.
